Andrew was delighted to have hosted the Rt Hon Michael Gove MP on a visit the West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine on Friday. The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs spend the afternoon with Andrew visiting important organisations to discuss rural tourism, fishing, farming and the growing Aberdeenshire food and drink sector.
The first stop was the Alford Heritage Centre where the Secretary of State learnt about the history of Aberdeen Angus, originating from the Alford area and spent time in the old mart looking at various historical items relating to rural life in Aberdeenshire.
Andrew and Michael met with Opportunity North East to discuss the growing food and drink sector and the proposed new food hub to support the industry. Following that meeting the two met with representatives from the Scottish Fishermans Federation to talk about all things Brexit related and, finally a trip to Dinnet to meet with the Dee District Salmon Fishing Board.
In the evening Andrew and Michael hosted a dinner for almost 150 guests at Maryculter House Hotel, topping off an incredibly busy but very successful day in the constituency.
