Andrew Bowie MP has written to the Cabinet Secretary for Transport following changes to bus transport across the constituency.
Recent changes to Stagecoach’s timetable have caused significant problems for a number of residents. Constituents have particularly raised concerns regarding travelling from Stonehaven and Newtonhill to the Altens and Cove areas of Aberdeen.
In his letter Andrew noted one example from a constituent whose journey had increased from 20 minutes to over an hour.
Andrew’s office has already been in touch with Stagecoach urging them to review their decision. However, they have advised they cannot make changes at short notice.
In his letter to the Cabinet Secretary Andrew called for the Scottish Government to step in and explore what it could do to support commuters in the affected communities, in particular the possibility of reinstating previous services.
