The latest figures on unemployment in West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine have been released.
The total number of unemployed claimants in West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine constituency in June 2017 was 685 which represents a rate of 1.3% of the economically active population aged 16-64, the 501st highest of the 650 UK constituencies. (1st = highest claimant rate, 650th = lowest claimant rate.)
The number of claimants in West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine constituency is 60 lower than June 2016 and 50 lower than May 2017.
Andrew Bowie says: "Of course, anyone forced to claim unemployment benefit is one too many and we must work to reduce these numbers further by building and retaining a strong, diverse and dynamic economy in West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine and in the country as a whole. But these figures are incredibly positive and should be welcomed by all."
