The rise in incidents of anti-social behaviour in Westhill have been quickly prioritised by Andrew.
Following a high-profile incident outside a business in which staff and customers were threatened, Andrew wrote to residents regarding the incident along with Police Scotland’s local policing team.
Soon after the Garioch Community Policing Team carried out proactive patrols in Westhill, engaging with local businesses and residents, and targeting resources to highlighted areas. Police Scotland also confirmed that officers had taken action in regard to two individuals.
However, it would appear that despite this, a number of serious incidents have taken place since. Incidents including teenagers throwing fireworks at cars, using racially abusive language, and causing damage to property.
Describing the rise in anti-social behaviour as “bitterly disappointing” Andrew sought a meeting with local police commanders on behalf of constituents in Westhill. Residents want to see Police Scotland take action and increase their presence in the community to deter further anti-social behaviour.
Andrew met with officers on the 18th of April to discuss this matter and urge further action.
