Andrew Bowie MP has written to residents in Dinnet following constituents expressing their concerns that road safety on the A93 has been degraded as a result of the diversion put in place due to the closure of Aboyne Bridge.
In his letter Andrew said “my understanding is that the Aboyne Bridge closure and associated diversion, which has led to increased traffic through Dinnet, has also led to an increase in spend related issues”
He also adds that he has been made aware that there are growing concerns over the impact the division is having on Dinnet Bridge and the deterioration of road surfaces caused by the increased volume of traffic.
Andrew explains that whilst he works with local councillors to push for the swift reopening of the bridge it is important that residents in Dinnet are not unduly impacted.
As such he has also written to both Police Scotland and Aberdeenshire Council to raise the concerns of residents.
