The Scottish Government must do more to ensure that rural communities have access to GPs. Andrew is in the Evening Express and The Mearns Leader and Kincardineshire Observer today talking about the need for more focus to be put on rural Aberdeenshire.
Andrew said, "I am aware of several health centres in the local area which have been taken over by NHS Grampian and are still struggling to fill their GP quota. The Scottish Government last year offered a £20,000 ‘golden hello’ payment for a paltry three doctors to come to NHS Grampian. We don’t know whether any of the three came to Aberdeenshire but the scope of opportunity shows a lack of imagination."
