Andrew met with Secretary of State for Defence, Gavin Williamson MP to discuss the current and future plans for British Defence. The meeting held with no less than 8 Scottish Conservatives in addition to members of Armed Forces in Scotland, focused on some key issues relating to the armed forces in Scotland specifically.
The meeting came at a time when the UK Government have stepped in the protect the 70% of Scottish troops that would have been affected by the SNP's tax increase. Under the new SNP income tax rise, troops in Scotland would have otherwise been taxed more than their colleagues in England and Wales.
